Getting Rid of Cellulite – A Non-Invasive Treatment

Many people suffer from cellulite on a day to day basis and can’t seem to get rid of it no matter how hard they workout or how healthily they eat. Fortunately there are options available for cellulite treatment in Clinton, Michigan that don’t require invasive surgery or long recovery times.

What causes cellulite?

Cellulite is caused by several different factors including genetics, lifestyle habits such as a bad diet, smoking, or lack of physical activity, and hormones. Of course, these are just a few things that can cause it. There are things you can do at home to help maintain or prevent cellulite from forming such as eating a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water, and regularly exercising.

Why do women suffer more from cellulite than men?

It’s true that some men do get cellulite, but it usually isn’t as noticeable for a number of factors. One of the major reasons is that the structure of collagen fibers is different in men than it is in women. For men, the collagen fibers are thicker and run horizontally and create a crisscross pattern which prevents fat from bulging out. Women, on the other hand, have vertical collagen fibers that run parallel and aren’t as thick. In addition, estrogen causes women to store fat for in their hips and thighs.

Do over the counter remedies work?

There are many creams and other over the counter remedies available that claim to get rid of the fat deposits, but most of them aren’t capable of producing lasting results. Creams don’t get rid of the fat; instead they help bring blood flow to your skin, which can reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Are body wraps an effective cellulite treatment?

It is commonly believed that seaweed and other types of body wraps can draw fat out of the body. However, there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. Body wraps compress tissue in your body, they don’t get rid of cellulite. A body wrap can last anywhere from one to three months. These can be used for a big night out but aren’t a recommended treatment for cellulite because they don’t get rid of the fat.

What types of treatments are available?

Dr. Davide Lacobelli offers an effective option to help reduce and rid yourself of cellulite called Venus Freeze. This procedure is not invasive and is done on an outpatient basis.

Venus Freeze can help with body contouring and removing cellulite. It works by stimulating specific hormones that help your body break down and release fat, stimulates blood flow, and helps your body produce more elastin and collagen. This treatment is divided into sessions and will continue to work up to three months after sessions have stopped.

What about liposuction?

While liposuction is a great alternative for getting rid of excess fat by surgically removing it, it can sometimes make the appearance of cellulite worse. This is because it can cause contour irregularities, and this is especially true for those who already have this type of problem.

Conclusion

As you already know cellulite is very common, especially in women, and there are many things that go into whether or not you will get it. The treatment we offer is non-invasive and requires no downtime so you can have it done and be back to your normal routine in almost no time.
